Dor Wand: Between Sound and Space
For our first US event at Colbo NYC, we invited LA-based DJ and producer Dor Wand to take care of the music for the weekend.
And luckily for us, he did exactly that.
Dor’s approach sits somewhere between DJing and world-building. His sets aren’t there to take over a room, they shape it. Built from textured layers, subtle rhythm shifts, and a very good sense of timing, his sound has a way of making you forget what time it is in a nice way.
It moves through ambient tones, warm electronic elements, and minimal but emotional progression. Nothing rushed, nothing forced, just carefully placed sounds that somehow make everything feel a little more considered (including your choice to stay for “one more drink”).
At Colbo, he brought this approach into the space from the very first track. Inspired by his recent work, the set unfolded slowly and naturally, adding atmosphere without ever asking for attention. The kind of DJ set that lets you talk, listen, and occasionally realise you’ve been nodding your head for 20 minutes.
Alongside his DJ work, Dor is the founder of Fault Radio and a resident on dublab, where his focus continues to be on building spaces for listening, discovery, and sharing music properly, not just playing it louder.
For us, having him at the first Aro US event felt very aligned. Thoughtful, understated, and exactly the right energy for a room full of new and familiar faces.
